Your order, from brief to carton

You do not need a finished CAD file to start. A retailer photo, a dimensioned sketch, or the product the fixture must hold is enough for engineering to open a drawing. Production only starts after that drawing — and, when the part is new, the physical sample — is approved.

Brief and design review

Send what you have: dimensions, target quantity, destination country, and whether you need print, engraving, tint, hardware, or LED. Name the load and the setting — outdoor sun, heavy bottles, hanging jewelry, and food contact each change thickness and grade.

Engineering checks manufacturability, joint logic, and whether laser, CNC, or a mixed route will hold the fit you need. Awkward assemblies get a 3D view before anyone cuts sheet.

Why it mattersA vague “acrylic box” quote produces the wrong part. A named specification produces a repeatable one.

Engineering, process plan, and quote

We lock the manufacturing sequence before a price is issued: sheet grade and thickness, cut method, polish route, bend radii, bond type, print coverage, hardware, and carton spec. Unit cost follows those choices plus quantity — setup is spread further on larger runs.

Typical cut-and-polish work does not carry a separate mold line. Unusual jigs, if needed, are named on the quotation rather than appearing later as a surprise.

Why it mattersLaser versus CNC, diamond versus flame, solvent versus mechanical fasteners — each decision changes edge quality, lead time, and how the piece will live on a counter.

Material selection and incoming inspection

Default sheet is virgin-grade PMMA — the family buyers also call acrylic, Perspex, Lucite, or plexiglass. High-clarity display sheet is the starting point. UV-stable and impact-modified grades are quoted when the environment needs them. Everyday organizers often sit at 3–8 mm; pedestals and solid blocks run much thicker.

  • Optical check for bubbles, inclusions, and haze
  • Thickness verification with digital gauges
  • Surface integrity: scratches, scuffs, film damage
  • Color consistency on tinted or frosted lots
  • Batch documents when your compliance file requires them
Why it mattersPolishing cannot rescue a cloudy or warped sheet. Rejecting bad material here is cheaper than remaking a finished display.

Cutting — laser or CNC

Flat profiles, slots, windows, and registered cut paths go to the multi-head laser when the geometry is 2D and the edge needs to stay clean. CNC routing and engraving take over for thicker plate, pockets, stepped faces, drilling, and recessed marks that a laser beam cannot form.

Working reference on most display work is ±0.2 mm. Fit-critical features — lid gaps, magnet pockets, nested trays — are marked on the drawing and verified against the sample, not assumed from a generic tolerance note.

Why it mattersThe cut decides how much polishing the edge will need and whether two parts will close without a visible step.

Hot bending and forming

When a display needs an angle or a curve, the sheet is heated only where the geometry requires it. Line bending softens a narrow strip for brochure holders, menu stands, and simple risers. Larger curves use controlled forming over a jig or mold so the radius stays even from end to end.

Heat, dwell, and cool-down are set by grade and thickness. Rushing this step leaves stress marks, whitening, or a spring-back that no amount of later polishing will hide.

Why it mattersA brochure holder that does not stand at the approved angle is not a small error — it is a different product.

Edge finishing

Raw cut edges scatter light. The finish named on the drawing restores the look you approved:

  • Diamond polishing — optical, glass-like edges on suitable straight geometry; the default for premium cases, blocks, and jewelry risers
  • Flame polishing — fast clarity on curves and inside corners the wheel cannot reach evenly
  • Cloth / satin — uniform sheen where a mirror edge is not required

The approved sample — not a verbal “make it clear” — is the release standard.

Why it mattersRetail lighting is unforgiving. An uneven edge reads as cheap even when the sheet itself is first-grade.

Printing, engraving, and branding

Decoration is applied after forming and polishing so heat and abrasion do not damage the graphic. In-house routes:

  • UV printing — full-color logos, gradients, and photo-level art on the face or reverse-printed behind clear sheet
  • Silkscreen — solid spot colors and durable text at production volume
  • Laser engraving — permanent etch for a quiet, tactile mark

Vector artwork with outlined fonts gives the cleanest edge. We will say so if a logo will pixelate at the planned size. Print proofs are signed off before the bulk run; your artwork stays yours.

Why it mattersA 2 mm shift in a logo on a cosmetics stand is visible from the aisle. Alignment is checked against the same datum used for the cut.

Bonding, hardware, and assembly

Multi-part boxes, organizers, and stands are joined so the seam matches the sample: solvent or UV bonding for a near-invisible fused joint; screws, hinges, magnets, or locks where the piece must open, nest, or travel. LED modules and metal fittings are installed to the approved drawing, then the assembly is clamped and cured before anyone handles it as a finished unit.

Joint geometry, surface prep, and clamp time decide whether a corner stays crystal or blooms white. Those settings are locked on the first approved piece and reused on the bulk run.

Why it mattersA display that looks clear on day one and clouds at the seam after a week was not under-cured by accident — it was released without a defined bond standard.

Quality inspection

Inspection is not a single gate at the end of the line. Every unit is checked before it is packed, against the approved drawing and sample, for dimensions, surface, print register, bond appearance, and hardware function.

If something is wrong after delivery, photograph the outer carton, inner pack, labels, and the affected parts. Production faults and carrier damage are separated so the remedy matches the cause. Transit damage that traces back to our packing is replaced or credited on the next order.

Why it mattersThe sample you signed is the specification. Bulk pieces that drift from it do not ship.

Packing and worldwide shipping

Each piece is film-wrapped, seated in foam or corner protection, and packed in an export carton sized to the part. Bulk orders are palletized. Carton marks, quantities, and documents are checked before the lot leaves Dongguan.

Shipments move by express courier, air freight, sea freight, or China–Europe rail. For the United States, the EU, the UK, and most of Asia we can quote a landed price that already includes duties and taxes. If you have your own forwarder, packed cartons can be handed to their China agent with sizes and gross weight attached.

Why it mattersClear acrylic shows every scuff. Packing is part of the product, not an afterthought.

What the workshop actually does

These are the in-house routes used on Sanait display stands, boxes, trays, organizers, jewelry and beauty fixtures, sign holders, blocks, hospitality pieces, and other custom PMMA work. OEM and ODM programs use the same floor.

Laser cutting

Clean 2D profiles, windows, and repeating patterns with a narrow kerf. Preferred for sign holders, shelf profiles, and detailed cut-outs.

CNC machining

Routing, drilling, pockets, and thick-plate work for blocks, trophies, stepped risers, and parts a laser cannot contour.

Diamond & flame polishing

Optical edges on straight geometry; flame or cloth where the shape demands it. Finish is released against the sample, not a generic gloss target.

Hot bending & forming

Line bends and formed curves for stands, trays, and lids. Radius and angle are taken from the approved drawing.

UV print, screen, engraving

Brand marks applied after the part has its final shape. Face print, reverse print, spot color, or etched identification.

Bonding, LED, hardware

Solvent and UV joints, magnets, hinges, locks, and light integration so the unit ships ready to place on the counter.

Four inspection stages, not one

Quality control runs with the order from the first sheet to the closed carton. The four stages below are the same sequence published on our quality control page.

Stage 1

Incoming material

Clarity, thickness, surface, color, and documents. Non-compliant sheet is rejected or held — it does not enter the cut queue.

Stage 2

In-process

Cut size, edge quality, bend angle, print register, and trial fit are checked while the part can still be remade on the same shift.

Stage 3

Final product

Assembled units are compared with the approved sample for surface, bond, hardware, print, and finished dimensions before packing.

Stage 4

Pre-shipment

Film, foam, carton condition, quantity against the PO, labels, and shipping papers. Issues are corrected before the lot is released.

Sheet used in production is SGS-tested against RoHS, REACH, EU POPs, and FDA where the application requires those papers. Ask for the batch documents at RFQ if your compliance file needs them on the shipment. Supporting reports are confirmed per product and destination — they are not assumed for every SKU.

MOQ, samples, and lead times

Commercial terms follow the current FAQ and how to order pages. Complexity, quantity, and finishing can move a date; the quotation states the window before you commit.

Minimum order

Plan on 100 pieces per design for most displays, boxes, trays, and stands. Mixed constructions on a single program can land in a 100–500 range depending on size and process.

New buyers who need a smaller first run should say so in the first email. We will tell you if a lower trial is workable for that part rather than treating 100 as immovable for every sketch.

Sample before bulk

After the drawing is agreed we make a custom sample. Most simple parts leave the sample bench in 2–5 working days; assembled or printed pieces can take up to about a week.

Sample cost depends on size and decoration. Freight is billed separately. Reorders that keep size, sheet, finish, print, hardware, and carton unchanged do not need another sample.

Production & transit

  • Bulk production: typically 15–25 business days after sample approval
  • Air freight: about 10–15 days door to door
  • Sea freight: about 30–35 days
  • Rail to Europe: about 45–50 days

Manufacturing questions we hear first

What processes does Sanait run in-house?

Laser cutting and CNC machining; hot bending and heat forming; diamond-edge polishing and UV / solvent bonding; UV printing, silkscreen, and laser engraving; hardware fitting, LED integration, final assembly, and export packing. A rough concept is enough to open a buildable drawing.

When do you use laser cutting instead of CNC?

Laser is the usual route for flat, detailed profiles and a fine edge on typical display thicknesses. CNC is chosen for thicker plate, pockets, drilled features, and 3D contours. Many parts use both: laser for the outline, CNC for a recess or hole pattern. The process plan on the quote names the route so you are not guessing from a photo.

How should a logo be applied?

UV printing for full color and fine gradients, silkscreen for solid spot colors at volume, laser engraving for a permanent uncolored mark. Print can sit on the face or be reverse-printed behind clear sheet. Colors can be aimed at a named Pantone or HEX and signed off on a print proof.

Do I need CAD to get a quote?

No. A photo of a shop fixture or of the product that must sit inside the box is enough. CAD, AI, PDF, and high-resolution PNG all help. Vector files with outlined fonts give the cleanest print and engraving edge.

What sheet do you start from?

Virgin-grade PMMA. High-clarity display sheet is the default; UV-stable and impact-modified grades are quoted when the environment needs them. Colors and tints follow available sheet plus custom print. Thickness is project-based.

How is a bonded joint judged?

Against the approved sample: clarity of the seam, alignment of the edges, and — when the brief names a load — that the assembly still holds after the cure window. Whitening, bubbles, or a stepped corner are in-process defects, not “character.”

What payment methods do you accept?

T/T bank transfer is the usual rail for production. PayPal and Western Union are used for samples and smaller invoices where the destination account allows it. Deposit versus balance is confirmed on the formal invoice before production starts. Match the beneficiary on that invoice before you send funds.
